Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
"ZukanSwipe: World Heritage" (the "App") is an encyclopedia app that lets you stumble upon the world's UNESCO World Heritage sites (1,248 in total) through swiping and a map, and get to know them little by little.
This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled in the App.
2. Data We Collect
The App collects and uses the following data.
(1) In-App Data
- Favorites: Information about World Heritage sites saved by the user
- Want to Visit: Information about World Heritage sites the user has marked as "want to visit"
- Browsing History: A history of the World Heritage sites whose detail pages the user has viewed
- Encyclopedia Progress: Progress data on which World Heritage sites the user has encountered or viewed in detail
This data is stored only in the device's local storage (AsyncStorage) and is never sent to any external server operated by the developer.
(2) Information Related to Advertising
To offer the App for free, the App displays advertisements using Google's ad-serving service "Google AdMob."
For ad delivery, Google and AdMob may collect and use information such as advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA), IP address, device information, and information about ad impressions and interactions.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
The App (developer) itself does not collect the following data.
- Location: The map feature works only through manual user operation; the App does not obtain your current location via GPS.
- Personal Information: Information that can identify a user, such as name, email address, or phone number.
- Behavioral Analytics Data: The developer does not perform any independent analysis of user activity.
No developer-operated analytics are used. Behavioral analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics are not implemented.
However, as described in "2.(2) Information Related to Advertising" above, data collection and use by Google occurs in connection with ad delivery (Google AdMob).
4. How Data Is Stored
- Data generated within the App (Favorites, Want to Visit, Browsing History, Encyclopedia Progress) is all stored on the device.
- This data is never sent to any external server operated by the developer.
- When you delete the App, the data stored on your device is also deleted.
Note that information related to advertising ("2.(2)" above) is handled by Google through Google AdMob.
5. Provision to Third Parties
The developer does not provide data obtained within the App (Favorites, History, etc.) to any third party.
However, the App uses Google AdMob for ad delivery, and information necessary for ad delivery is obtained and used by Google (see "2.(2) Information Related to Advertising" above).
This does not apply in cases where there is a legitimate reason, such as when required by law.
6. External Services
The App uses the following external services.
- Google AdMob: Ad delivery (Google Privacy Policy)
- Wikimedia Commons: Retrieval of World Heritage image data (image viewing only)
- MapLibre: Map data display (open-source map library)
Each of these external services is governed by its own privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or services linked from the App.
Please review the policies of each site.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This policy may be revised as appropriate in response to changes in laws or our business.
